About Chris Wright Photography
Specialist Commercial, Product and Holiday Cottage Photographer
Chris
Chris Wright's career began as Chief Photographer for his local newspaper. During that time it became apparent that there was a need for a commercial photographer in the Stratford-upon-Avon area and so Chris Wright Photography was formed in 1974.
By 1976 the industrial and audiovisual market had expanded to such an extent that Chris began to specialise in these areas. From the late 70's to early 80's Chris Wright Photography grew through his work with such clients as Rolls Royce, Peugeot, IBM, IMI and many smaller companies covering brochure shoots and catalogue work.
Chris's close connections with photojournalism enabled him to handle such events as product launches, public relations exercises and photography for industrial magazines.
The late 80's and early 90's new opportunities arrived with the ever expanding leisure market and Chris moved into photographing both interiors and exteriors of hotels, holiday complexes and cottages.
In the early 90's a new holiday company, Rural Retreats, was formed. Chris started to photograph all their properties and they have now gone on to become the market leader in their field. Chris worked for them as their sole photographer for many years, and now undertakes interior work for private individuals and other agencies all over the United Kingdom.
In conjunction with the expanding architectural and interior photography market Chris still maintained his contacts with local commercial needs and in 1993 moved to a location 3 miles south of Stratford. Whilst still doing light industrial work, his photography of flowers, plants, and jewellery, has won him a number of awards.
The year 2000 saw a move into the new technology of electronic imaging. Since then Chris’s former photographic knowledge has proved invaluable in this move into the digital era, all his work is now done electronically.
Since then, and the move to the digital era, Chris Wright Photography gained a new client in the then young Premier Cottages, who now have now become a leading holiday cottage company in the UK, representing over 880 cottages in England, Scotland, Wales, Isles of Scilly, Ireland and The Channel Islands.
In 2006 Charlotte, Chris’s daughter joined the company. Charlotte completed a two year Diploma in photography in which she achieved Distinction’s in all her modules. She has specialised in interior photography, but has also expanded the business into new areas. Photographing large estates, their gardens and beautiful artwork for individually printed “coffee” table books. Charlotte also has a flair for Wedding photography, and along with Chris takes photographs for the Holiday Cottage Industry.
